Malin’s fitness story:
My fitness journey started when I was 17 and joined the gym to get over the breakup with first boyfriend… My mum encouraged me to do something for my self, and I got immediately hooked on resistance training and how it made me feel.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Difficult to answer.. it’s a combination of several different things and people. For example, my clients inspire me immensely.. Me and Ross are constantly working to get better in terms of the content we deliver, the processes we do that by as well as obviously keep learning our selves. It’s a constant process of test & re test… some things work, others not so much. Without them there wouldn’t be a reason to do what we do… That drive though, I guess comes from within and being very “self motivated” or “self inspired” if that’s makes sense haha. I also take inspiration from other professionals that I look up to or learn from – it might be people I know or people I follow that I resonate with.
What’s your key to your success?
What is success… I’ve never really been motivated by financial reward or having a big house, this or that. Success for me is being happy, enjoying what I do, proving value to other people, and sharing my life with people I love & care about. So for me to be successful, as per my definition, is about always striving to be as true to my self & my core values as possible in the choices I make. It’s about being the best I can in every given moment and to be consistent in my pursuits. An important factor for that to happen, is to have a vision, or goals, and set out to achieve them.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
I’ve been given a lot of good advice in my days, but the very first thing that came to mind is something my grandmother used to tell me every single time we spoke on the phone when I was younger … she used to say “be free and independent”… I guess she meant never to give up your personal power and basically always make sure you can stand on your own two legs. I gave away my power once – I am very glad I came out stronger from that experience and finally understand for my self what she meant.
Another great advice I was given that I want to share is “Remember to recognize how far you have come” … sometimes progress is slow and most things worth working for, doesn’t happen over night. It’s easy to get discouraged. A wise man taught me to take the time to stop from time to time to actually acknowledge where I am today and what my progress has been like.
Do you have a phrase or motto you live your life by?
“Quality Over Quantity”… is a motto I’ve had for as long as I can remember, which is always in the back of my mind. Whether that being with regards to the people I keep close, how I work as a coach, any collaborations we do with other business or people, to the things I buy or invest in (unless it’s lululemon gym gear then it’s quality AND quantity haha).
Favourite inspirational quote:
“Present reality is a manifestation of past thoughts”
Basically we “pre-sent” to our self our current reality or experience based on past thoughts/ behaviors, so if you’re unhappy now or want a different tomorrow.. you got to change what you are thinking / doing today. I think accepting personal responsibility for what we do and how we feel is one of they key things to experience & learn as a human being!
