Tiffany’s fitness story:
My fitness journey started 18 months ago when I finished working seasons abroad in Ibiza and the Alps. The unhealthy lifestyle had really caught up with me and I had simply had enough! I started exercising and eating better, following online plans until I was confident enough to start writing my own. I also started a blog, to keep myself accountable and maybe help other people in the same boat as me. I had ups and downs, as most people do, but consistency is key and I am working towards my goals consistently. Moving to the UAE opened up opportunities to work more on the blog and my own personal development in becoming a qualified Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer. I love working with people to improve their overall health, and seeing people reach their goals is very fulfilling!
My latest achievements are studying towards and gaining my qualifications in personal training. It’s something that I have wanted to do for a long time! Last year I trained for and successfully ran a 10k race for the British Heart Foundation, and I have kept up with my running training, successfully running four 10km runs in March this year.
In the beginning months of 2016, I trained for a Strava Cycling Gran Fondo – a 115km ride which must all take place in one session. I completed it in April and I was so proud and exhausted that I cried! In every day life, I am very proud with my progression and achievements in my weight training sessions.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from looking back at my own success so far and then paving the way forward to the goals that I have set myself. The stories of others inspire me to work as hard as I can to reach my goals, and I love hearing about peoples journeys whilst trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I also watch a lot of fitness videos on YouTube, and the journeys of other people inspire me to always give 120%. My favourites are Heidi Somers, Em Dunc and Nikki Blackletter.
What’s your key to your success?
My key to success is simply determination and consistency. If I have a bad day, then I pick myself up and start fresh the next. I refocus on my priorities, and make sure that I am always looking at the bigger picture. I have clear goals that I set myself, and I won’t stop until they are smashed!
What was the best advice your were given?
‘No Pain – No Gain’
My dad always used to say this to me and my sisters when we were young, and it’s one of those phrases that has stayed with me for life. I might have to go through some pain or discomfort to get to my goals – but if it’s going to get me there – it’s totally worth it!
Do you have a motto or phrase that you live your life by?
‘Everything in Moderation’
I truly believe that everything in moderation is key to ensuring a happy, healthy life. It also means that every once in a while I get to enjoy a Krispy Kreme or my favourite slice from The Cheesecake Factory!
